GWACA is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council with funding from the state of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art. These organizations share our mission to support quality arts and cultural activities in the greater Wilmington community.
The board of directors and staff are committed to producing resources that enhance the cultural community. GWACA works in partnership with other community organizations to provide enjoyable artistic and cultural opportunities for all New Hanover County residents.
The Greater Wilmington Arts & Cultural Alliance has distributed the Grassroots Arts Grants by partnering with the Cape Fear Museum for the last two years. Grant-based programming in our community facilitates artistic achievement at an organizational level. GWACA advocates with ARTS North Carolina for the state funding that supports diverse local arts organizations.

We encourage everyone to join GWACA if you are not already a member. Joining GWACA is a way to display your support of arts and culture in the Greater Wilmington area. A strong and well supported Art Council is indicative of a strong arts and cultural community and provides a voice of advocacy for that aspect of our community.
