The following standing committees have been established by the Board of Directors: Executive Committee, , Finance Committee, Fund Raising Committee, Long Range and Strategic Planning Committee, Nominating Committee, Marketing and Membership.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall include in its membership the officers of the Corporation, Immediate Past President and the Chairpersons of each standing committee. Unless a different person is designated Chairperson of the Executive Committee by resolution of the Board, the President of the Board shall serve as Chairperson. All members of the Executive Committee shall be voting members of the Board of Directors.
The Executive Committee shall, during intervals between meetings of the Board, exercise all the powers of the Board in the management of the business and affairs of the Corporation, except as otherwise provided by law, these by-laws, or by resolution of the Board.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee shall work with the staff of the Corporation in the preparation of an annual budget, shall review the finances of the Corporation on a regular basis, and shall make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Treasurer of the Corporation shall serve as a voting member of the Finance Committee.
Fund Raising Committee
The Fund Raising Committee is responsible for planning and implementing fund raising events and programs to satisfy their part of the annual budget. This committee also plays a key role in meeting with the finance committee to help establish the various income components of the annual budget including fund raising, membership dues, grant funds and other income sources.
Long Range Planning Committee
The Planning Committee shall be actively concerned with matters involving the future development of programs as well as systems and structures to implement the artistic purposes of the Corporation
Marketing Committee
The Marketing Committee shall be responsible for publicizing events pertaining to GWACA. These include fundraising efforts, membership drives, annual meeting, and community outreach services. The committee will utilize various resources from within the committee to create press releases and make contacts with the local and state media. Committee members can assist with logos, collateral materials, newsletter and the continued development, maintenance and marketing of the new web site: gwaca.org.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee shall be responsible for and shall plan for and implement all membership services including but not limited to strategic partnerships, education programs, membership development, calendars, and regranting. They have obtained feedback from members of the arts and cultural community as to how GWACA can best assist the community as a whole. The membership committee welcomes new members. We appreciate visions and ideas that can help GWACA continue to grow and provide important arts and cultural services to its members.
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee shall review regularly the needs of the Corporation in regard to Board membership and shall propose a slate of nominees for election as Directors at each annual meeting of the Board or at any other meeting of the Board at which Directors will be elected. The Nominating Committee also shall propose a slate of Officers of the Corporation for election at each annual meeting of the Board.
Strategic Planning Committee
The Strategic Planning will be outlining the short term goals for GWACA that can be achieved in a time frame of 12 to 18 months. We will also establish a long-term view of the types of activities GWACA will be able to grow into as the organization develops . Longer-range projections require careful planning and direction combined with resource assessment.
